Institute for Studies in Global Prosperity Bursary Award
Funding for awards to support students participating in the Institute for Studies in Global Prosperity seminars is provided by contributions from the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Canada to the Foundation. It enables eligible applicants to attend and study at undergraduate seminars designed by the Institute and held throughout North America and around the world.
The series of Institute seminars, entitled “Participating in the Prevalent Discourses of Society,” seeks to accompany Bahá’í students annually over the course of their undergraduate studies. These intensive seminars aim to raise the consciousness of youth about the importance of engaging in action and discourse directed towards social change; to develop their capacity to reflect, to analyze, and to learn from action; to explore elements of a conceptual framework for contributing to the advancement of civilization; to provide them with tools to understand and analyze the culture in which they are immersed as well as the content of the university courses they are studying; to help them assume ownership of their education; and to assist them in their efforts to acquire the kind of knowledge that will enable them to live fruitful, productive and meaningful lives.
ISGP Bursaries are awarded semi-annually in awards of up to the amount of C$750 each. Applications are reviewed by the Unit Coordinators of the Institute and recommendations submitted by the Unit Coordinators to the Foundation for its consideration. The Foundation decisions awarding ISGP Bursaries are final.
In any 6 month period, the Foundation may, in its discretion, decide to make no awards.
